Questions about joining our registry?
-
1099 Caregivers: We do require all caregivers working as independent contractors to carry both Workers’ Compensation insurance and Professional Liability insurance to stay active on our registry.
W-2 Caregivers: You are not required to carry your own workers' compensation or liability insurance. The household employer must provide workers' compensation in Maryland if you earn $1,000+ per calendar quarter, typically through their homeowners insurance or a standalone policy. They may also have liability coverage.

Cary’s Circle requires that 1099 independent contractors/caregivers carry liability insurance to work in Maryland households. If you need to acquire or update your liability insurance, contact CM&F Group or CPH Insurance.

Cary’s Circle recommends that you update your workers’ compensation/occupational accident insurance before working as a 1099 caregiver in a Maryland household. Here is a link to TFG Insurance, which is the leading and affordable insurer in the caregiving industry.
