In Maryland, a caregiver registry is a licensed agency that connects individuals and families with qualified, independent caregivers, registered nurses and licensed therapists for in-home care and support. It offers a flexible and often more affordable alternative to traditional home care agencies, while still providing access to experienced professionals.
Families benefit from greater choice and control over who provides care and how services are scheduled. Our registry thoroughly screens our caregivers—verifying licenses and certifications, conducting background checks, and ensuring references—offering peace of mind alongside personalized care options.
-
A caregiver registry can be a better choice than a traditional agency for several reasons. It’s particularly well-suited if your loved one requires specialized care, such as medication administration or skilled nursing. With a registry, you gain greater control over the hiring process, allowing you to personally select the caregiver who best fits your loved one’s needs. Additionally, if you prioritize consistent care and direct communication with the caregiver without third-party involvement, a registry offers a more personalized and streamlined experience.

Most long-term care insurance companies reimburse policyholders for privately hired caregivers, provided they have specific certifications. They also require copies of Cary’s Circle’s Maryland NRSA and HCSA licenses.
